Winter Ski & Fun
Roccaraso is one of the largest Italian resorts outside the Alps and offers a vast network of cross-country routes too. Roccaraso hosts large FIS events. It is the region's most established ski resort. Most established but happily not overdeveloped. It nestles pleasingly in a conservation area, meaning that the outlook from the slopes is unadulterated powder, and lush forest. This ski resort is situated only, a 25 minute drive away from Casa Soltau.
66 ski runs - 28 Blue, 27 Red, and 11 Black runs.
- The longest Red Run is 3 km long.
- The longest Blue run 4.9 km long.
- The longest Black Run 2.8km long.
- The runs total approximately 100 km.
Supplying these runs are:
- 27 state of the art chair lifts.
- 2 cable-cars.
- 8 surface lifts.
The snow on all but eight of the 66 runs are augmented by snow guns
Roccaraso is a well kept secret by the Italians. The resort is virtually unknown outside of Southern Italy. You will hear hardly any other language spoken other than Italian - although many of the locals speak English. The season - this year the season started in mid December and normally lasts until the end of March or early April. Roccaraso is the best equipped ski resort in the Apennines’.
